Nothing Much Else Happened: September 27, 1978

Today was the beginning of my preparation for a guitar recital coming up in one month from Friday (Oct. 29). I'm planning on doing My Spanish piece, "Malaguena", and one other song, which I have no idea what it's going to be. I've narrowed it down to about 5 songs now. The recital is going to be out in Northridge, wherever that is. Sean called me up tonight and said he finally has our business cards that have our names on them. I'll be getting mine on Saturday.

Today was my guitar lesson. I started last Wednesday and am going full throttle, now. Jean has changed me over to classical, so now I'm working in a book I was working in when I was 9 and 10. I took classical for one year, and then decided I would stop, and maybe go back at a later date. Well, here I am again, working my way up towards a song called "Malaguena", and a song called "Greensleeves".

Today we got the annual yearbook for Paul Revere, the Patriot, and I'm in it four times! Once as my school picture, once as a marksman, once in the advanced band and one in silversmiths. But that's nothing — one of my friends got in it 6 times! When I got home, we took off for the beach, and were there til 7:30 P.M. We had a picnic of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and I went to the water 4 times. Back at home, I started getting prepared for camp. I put new strings on my old guitar, and Mom and I started packing away clothes. (Only 4 more days of school left!)

Today Lynn and Tina came over. Before they came over I found out that Lynn has multiple sclurosis (?), and she will have to be treated in a hospital in Denver, Colorado. Tina and I went to the beach for a couple of hours, and I really enjoyed the water. I met one of my friends, David Lewin, down there, and we had a great time. When we got home, we had a fantastic barbecue, and then Tina & I gave one of our "famous" performance. I found out that if I'm going to bring my guitar to camp, I'm going to have to practice. Nothing Much Else Happened: March 19, 1978

Today is Palm Sunday. So dad got all dressed up in a maroon colored bow tie and a bright yellow jacket. I didn't think it matched but he said it was fine for Church. After church, we went to my guitar lesson. (We had to do it today because there was no other time to do it. I got the greatest new song written by James Taylor. It's called "Secret O' Life." My mother fell in love with it the first time I played it for her along with the record.
